Prometheus was excellent, I can’t see where much of the criticism is coming from - beautifully crafted scenery and a narrative that covers some interesting ground concerning Darwinism/Creationism, I also think it holds well to the original alien - with some really nice homages scattered throughout as well as filling in some vital gaps in the Aliens universe.
